2009 NCF Scholarship Recipients

The Nye Community Foundation is pleased to announce the 2009 NCF scholarship award recipients.  We wish them the very best in their continued academic career.

 

Chris is a 2006 graduate of Absarokee HS and son of Scott and Johnnie Ecret of Nye, MT.  He attends UofM Missoula majoring in Exercise Science and Health Enhancement.  He is very involved with the Campus Crusade for Christ organization and on campus sports organizations.  Chris plans on pursuing a graduate degree in the medical field at Washington State University. 

 

Kaitlin is a 2007 graduate of Absarokee HS and daughter of Noel and Penny Keogh of Nye, MT.  She attends MSU Bozeman majoring in Resource Conservation and Rangeland Management.  She has worked at the Fish, Wildlife, and Parks Region Three office for the past several years and this summer will be the Region Three Weed Management Intern overseeing 89 fishing access sites. After graduation Kaitlin plans on pursuing a graduate degree in Oregon.  

 

Cort is a 2006 graduate of Absarokee HS and son of Larry and Pam Ratliff of Nye, MT.  He attends the UofM Missoula majoring in Fine Arts with an emphasis on Piano Studies.  Cort is involved in a number of different musical groups at UofM: Jazz Band II solo trumpet, Jazz sextet piano, and Jazz quartet piano.  He also organized and arranged a Jazz quartet for 7th grade gifted children at a Missoula middle school.

 

Cameron is a 2009 graduate of Absarokee HS and son of Marvin and Alison Schieldt of Fishtail, MT.  In the fall he will pursue a degree in Psychology at Palm Beach Atlantic University in Florida.  Cameron has been very active in the BPA organization, basketball, and track during his high school years.  He has worked at the Beartooth Christian Ranch, the Absarokee swimming pool, and volunteered for area activities.

 

Cory is a 2009 graduate of Absarokee HS and son of Greg Sybrant and Mary Sybrant, both of Nye, MT.  In the fall he will pursue a degree in Environmental Management at MSU Bozeman.  Cory has been very involved in wrestling and football, and was selected for an Academic All State Football award in 2008.  He has worked with the 4-H club, helped his mother start an archery club that now has 30+ members, and has assisted with Earth-Day activities.
