The Nye Volunteer Fire Department is located on highway 419, in the center of Nye.  This all volunteer group has many different types of fire equipment as well as emergency rescue items.  Volunteers are on call 24 hours a day.

In 2007, the building underwent a major expansion, featuring a large meeting hall which is used for community events.
